Gain Some Knowledge About Diabetes Type 2

Type 2 diabetes is one of the two forms of diabetes that is commonly found in slightly aged people. Most people used to think diabetes is of only one form. But the truth is diabetes is of two major types- diabetes type 1 and diabetes type 2. Both these two types of diabetes occur due to the increase of glucose in the blood stream. In both the cases insulin plays an important role.

In case of type 1 diabetes the beta cells of the pancreas are destroyed which are responsible for the production of insulin. Hence in the absence of insulin the glucose produced by breaking down of the food you consume can not be transported to the cells. Thus the glucose gets stored in the blood and as a result increases the blood glucose level.

In case of diabetes type 2, a lining of fat is accumulated inside the walls of the cell. This restricts the entry of insulin inside the cells. Thus the glucose also can not get inside the cells and starts storing up in the blood stream increasing the blood sugar level.

The causes of diabetes type 1 are not known for sure but the causes of diabetes type 2 are known. Diabetes type 2 occurs mainly due to irregular eating habits. Excess amounts of bad fats in the diet results in a layer of bad fats in the walls of the cells which restrain the insulin from transferring the glucose. Environmental pollution can be another cause.

Another important cause of type 2 diabetes can be genetic history. If a person has diabetes type 1 in his family history then he is most likely to acquire one himself.

The symptoms of both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes are quite the same. They are as follows- thirst, hunger, frequent urination, tiredness, getting annoyed easily, long time to cure a wound, huge amount of weight loss and that too suddenly.

The most important treatment of diabetes type 2 is through a proper diet. A patient suffering from diabetes type 2 should eat proper meals rich in the nutrients needed by the body. He should take the meals at regular intervals and follow it everyday. A general diabetes diet is low in carbohydrate. A diabetes patient should include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet and should drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday.

Another important treatment is done through physical exercise. A diabetic patient should involve himself in regular physical activities. It should something which the person likes to do and can do regularly.

A person suffering from diabetes type 2 should be in constant contact with his doctor and remain under medication and check their blood sugar levels regularly. In case of diabetes type 1 the patients they can opt for insulin treatments, pancreas replacement treatments and also islet cell injection procedure to get a better and regular lifestyle.
